Discover Nature Through Local Eyes

A private, small-group nature experience exploring the forests, wildlife and local ecology of Chiang Dao.

The experience is led by Guide SunTan, a licensed local guide and birding specialist, with support from community nature guides who contribute valuable knowledge of the forest and surrounding area.

No previous nature, hiking or birdwatching experience is required.


HALF-DAY NATURE WALK EXPERIENCE

Duration: Approximately 4–5 hours
Group size: 1–10 participants
Meeting point: Chiang Dao Hut

Price per Person

  • 1 Participant: 3,500 THB
  • 2 Participants: 2,200 THB per person
  • 3 Participants: 1,800 THB per person
  • 4–10 Participants: 1,600 THB per person

All prices are in Thai Baht.

This is a private nature experience. Your group will not be combined with unrelated customers.

COMMUNITY NATURE GUIDE RATIO

Community nature guides are assigned at a ratio of one guide for every five participants.

  • 1–5 Participants: Guide SunTan + 1 Community Nature Guide
  • 6–10 Participants: Guide SunTan + 2 Community Nature Guides
  • More than 10 Participants: Please contact us for guide arrangements and an individual quotation

This ratio provides appropriate support, personal attention and safer group management throughout the activity.

All wildlife is observed in its natural habitat. Sightings cannot be guaranteed, and the route may be adjusted according to current conditions.


A NATURE EXPERIENCE, NOT A PHYSICAL CHALLENGE

The Chiang Dao Jungle Nature Walk focuses on observation, learning and meaningful time in nature.

It is not designed as a challenging mountain trek or a race to complete a difficult route. However, participants should have reasonable mobility and be comfortable walking on natural forest trails.

The route and pace may be adjusted according to:

  • Participant age and walking ability
  • Weather and trail conditions
  • Current nature activity
  • Safety considerations
  • Access requirements

Please inform Guide SunTan before booking if anyone in your group has a medical condition, mobility limitation or other special requirement.

Children must remain under the supervision of a parent or responsible adult throughout the activity.


CHIANG DAO JUNGLE NATURE PASSPORT

Every participant receives access to the Chiang Dao Jungle Nature Passport.

This simple field journal helps guests record and remember the nature discoveries made during the experience, including birds, butterflies, orchids, fungi, plants, insects and signs of wildlife.

The Nature Passport may be used as:

  • An offline spreadsheet
  • A printable field checklist
  • A personal digital nature journal

Guests can continue using their copy after the activity as a personal record of their Chiang Dao nature experience.

Advance booking is required because Guide SunTan and community nature guides must be available and activity arrangements must be prepared in advance.

  3. Provide your preferred date, number of participants and nature interests.
  4. Inform us about the general mobility and fitness of your group.
  5. Confirm the price, meeting time and activity details.
  6. Pay a 50% deposit to secure the booking.
  7. Send your payment receipt to Guide SunTan.
  8. The booking will be confirmed and added to the Guide Schedule after the deposit has been received.

A date is not reserved until the activity details have been agreed and the required deposit has been received.
