Srisangwan Waterfall and Pong Arng Hot Spring: A Nature Day Trip from Chiang Dao

For travellers who enjoy waterfalls, forest walking and natural hot springs, Srisangwan Waterfall and Pong Arng Hot Spring can be combined into an enjoyable nature day trip from Chiang Dao.

Both attractions are located within Pha Daeng National Park. Visitors can use the same park admission ticket at both locations, making it convenient to walk in the forest, relax beside the waterfall and finish the day with a mineral-water soak.

Srisangwan Waterfall

Srisangwan Waterfall is a peaceful forest waterfall in the Chiang Dao area. The water flows over layers of limestone surrounded by green vegetation, creating a relaxing place to enjoy nature and cool down after walking.

Water levels vary according to the season. The waterfall may be stronger during the rainy period and lower toward the end of the dry season. Rocks and paths can become slippery, so visitors should wear suitable footwear and walk carefully.

Two Self-Guided Forest Trails

Srisangwan Waterfall currently has two forest trails that visitors can explore without a guide. The combined walking distance is approximately seven kilometres.

The trails are suitable for visitors who enjoy walking through natural forest and want more than a short stop at the waterfall. Conditions may vary according to the weather and season, so allow enough time and avoid starting too late in the day.

This is a self-guided outdoor activity. Visitors should carry drinking water, wear comfortable walking shoes and check the trail conditions with park staff before starting.

Swimming at the Waterfall

Visitors can relax and enjoy the water around the waterfall when conditions are suitable. Water levels and currents can change, particularly during periods of heavy rain.

Follow all warning signs and instructions from national park staff. Avoid entering the water when conditions appear unsafe, and do not use soap or other products in the natural water.

Continue to Pong Arng Hot Spring

After walking and visiting the waterfall, continue to Pong Arng Hot Spring for a relaxing mineral-water soak.

The hot spring is surrounded by a natural forest environment and provides a peaceful way to rest after completing the walking trails. Facilities and access conditions may change, so visitors should check the latest information with the staff on arrival.

One Admission Ticket for Both Locations

The same admission ticket can currently be used for both Srisangwan Waterfall and Pong Arng Hot Spring.

Keep your ticket after entering the first location and present it to the staff when visiting the second. Admission arrangements may change, so confirm the current conditions with national park staff when purchasing your ticket.

Getting There from Chiang Dao Hut

Srisangwan Waterfall is farther from Chiang Dao Hut than the nearby attractions around Chiang Dao Cave. Travelling by motorbike or car is recommended.

Check the weather before leaving, particularly during the rainy season. Some roads may be wet, and forest trail conditions can change after heavy rain.
