Driving from Chiang Mai
Travelling by car is the most convenient option, particularly if you plan to explore attractions around Chiang Dao during your stay.
From Chiang Mai, follow Highway 107 north through Mae Rim and Mae Taeng toward Chiang Dao. After reaching Chiang Dao, continue toward the Chiang Dao Cave area and follow Google Maps to the accommodation.
The journey generally takes around one and a half to two hours, depending on traffic, weather and your starting point in Chiang Mai.

Drive carefully, especially after dark or during heavy rain. Some roads near the mountain are narrower than the main highway.
Travelling by Motorbike
Experienced riders can travel from Chiang Mai to Chiang Dao by motorbike using Highway 107.
Wear a helmet, carry the correct driving licence and check the weather before leaving. Avoid riding at night if you are unfamiliar with the road. Rain, large vehicles and changing road conditions can make the journey more difficult.
A motorbike is also useful for visiting attractions outside walking or cycling distance from Chiang Dao Hut.
Public Transport from Chiang Mai
Public buses and passenger vans travelling north toward Chiang Dao, Fang or Tha Ton commonly depart from Chang Phueak Bus Terminal in Chiang Mai.
Services, departure points, fares and schedules can change. Confirm the next suitable service directly at the terminal before purchasing your ticket, and tell the driver that you need to stop in Chiang Dao.

Public transport normally stops in the Chiang Dao town area rather than at Chiang Dao Hut. The accommodation is near Chiang Dao Cave, so you will need to arrange local transport for the final part of the journey.
Save the Chiang Dao Hut location on your phone and show it to the local driver. If possible, arrange your final transport before leaving Chiang Mai.
Travelling from Chiang Mai Airport
Travellers using public transport must first travel from Chiang Mai International Airport to Chang Phueak Bus Terminal and then take a northbound service to Chiang Dao.
The simplest option is to travel by private taxi or a pre-arranged vehicle directly to Chiang Dao.
Allow additional time for city traffic, waiting for the next departure and arranging transport from Chiang Dao town to the accommodation.

Arriving at Chiang Dao Hut
Check-in is available between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM. Please plan to arrive during this period whenever possible.
Chiang Dao Hut is in the Chiang Dao Cave area, surrounded by gardens and mountain scenery. When you approach the property, use the saved Google Maps location rather than relying only on a general search for Chiang Dao town.
