August is one of the greenest times of the year at Chiang Dao Hut. Trees, flowers and other plants benefit from the rainy season, creating a rich environment for local wildlife.
Example birds: Crimson Sunbird, Olive-backed Sunbird, White-rumped Shama, Oriental Magpie-Robin, Common Tailorbird, Black-crested Bulbul, Greater Racket-tailed Drongo.
Birdwatching between rain showers can be rewarding, especially around flowering plants and quieter areas of the garden.
