Birds at Chiang Dao Hut in May

With the arrival of the first rains, the landscape around Chiang Dao begins to change. Vegetation becomes greener, insects become more abundant, and bird activity can be very interesting.

Example birds: Crimson Sunbird, Olive-backed Sunbird, Oriental Magpie-Robin, White-rumped Shama, Common Tailorbird, Black-crested Bulbul, Greater Racket-tailed Drongo, Asian Koel.

This is also a time when we may notice more breeding behaviour, territorial calls and birds searching for food for their young.
